Karen Donfried, Deputy United States Secretary of State, and Gabriel Escobar, Special Representative of the United States for the Western Balkans, have arrived to Kosovo. Their first meeting was with Vjosa Osmani, the so-called President of Kosovo. Following the meeting, Donfried and Osmani announced at a joint press conference that the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština ought to be focused on mutual recognition, reported the Kossev portal.

Donfried and Escobar then met with the so-called Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, after which Donfried reiterated that the priority of the United States is for the Belgrade-Priština dialogue to lead towards mutual recognition.

“On this issue, we highly prioritize supporting Eu-mediated dialogue in order to help Kosovo achieve normalized, stable relations, including mutual recognition with Serbia,” stated Donfried.
