
Bakir Izetbegović Asking Christian Schmidt to Intervene
Deputy Chairman of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Bakir Izetbegović said today that a necessary step was taken for “the High Representative in BiH to do his part”, after the proposal of the Club of Bosniak Delegates in the House of Peoples regarding the financing of the general elections in BiH was rejected.
Izetbegović said tot he journalists that he expected the High Representative to at least impose a decision that will make it possible for the procedures and processes relating to the preparations for the October election to be started on the spot.
Izetbegović, who is the leader of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), dislikes the idea of the entities financing the general election.
Izerbegović said that the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina have an obligation to organize and carry out the election in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that evading this obligation is a felony.
The Republic of Srpska does not recognize Christian Schmidt as the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina as he has not received approval from the United Nations Security Council for his mandate.
