The actions of the United Kingdom in the Western Balkans have been more destructive than gunpowder and bombs and more deadly than the plague, wrote on Telegram Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharova.

She reminded that during the 1990s, the United Kingdom, as part of the Western coalition, covered up the trade in organs carried out by the Kosovo Albanians, as well as trade in all types of prohibited goods, including weapons.

Criticizing the statements of United Kingdom’s Foreign Secretary Liz Truss regarding Russia’s “malignant influence” in the western Balkans, Zakharova pointed out that the influence of the NATO on the region was “shamelessly destructive, reminding of the NATO aggression against the former Yugoslavia, where missiles containing depleted uranium were used in the bombing.

“The Secretary of the British Foreign Office, Liz Truss, who is a renowned expert in history and geography, has warned the people of BiH not to trust Russia because of its ‘malignant influence’ in the region,” Zakharova reiterated Truss’ comments during her recent stop in BiH as part of a visit to the region, with the alleged aim to “confirm the United Kingdom’s devotion to peace and stability in the western Balkans”.

Zakharova pointed out that it was interesting that Truss was aware of “the Tatar-Mongol invasion of Ukraine”, but not of the NATO aggression in the former Yugoslavia.

“Liz Truss knows about the Tatar-Mongol invasion of Ukraine — good girl — but she does not know about the Alliance’s bombing of Belgrade? Then she may be interested in some examples of the Western influence in the Balkans,” stressed Zakharova.

Zahkarova pointed out that the Yugoslavian authorities “begged the British” for help with the Third Reich at the beginning of the Second World War, but London ignored it and the United Kingdom even used the war to accomplish its interests in Europe.
