Dodik: I Reject Agreement with United Kingdom Mentioning Kosovo Without Footnote and Bosnian Language
A special session of the National Assembly will be held on Monday, and it is now known what the Serbian Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik found disputable in the signing procedure and the Partnership, Trade and Cooperation Agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
On June 8, the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, outvoting Dodik, passed the Decision on initiating the procedure for conducting negotiations for the purpose of concluding the aforementioned agreement.
For the special session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, in addition to the text of the Agreement, Dodik also submitted the required justification and material showing what he, that is, the institutions of the Republic of Srpska, found unacceptable. The Ministries aof Trade and Tourism, the Ministry of Economy and Entrepreneurship, the Ministry for European Integration and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Agriculture submitted objections. Seemingly formal objections, but essential to the Serbian people, found their way among the many objections related to the impact of the agreement on taxation, customs, economy and other fields, seemingly
The Ministry of Economy and Entrepreneurship pointed out that the agreement mentions the Republic of Kosovo, without a footnote that should read “Per the Organization of the United Nations Resolution No. 1244”.
The Ministry of European Integration and International Cooperation cautioned that the agreement said that it was being signed “in the Bosnian language” on the behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
If the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska confirms Dodik’s veto in the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina with a two-thirds majority, the signing of the agreement with the United Kingdom will be halted.
