In his public address at Andrićev Venac, the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić said that the Gazprom contract covered 64% of our gas needs.

He also said that electricity will be difficult to purchase as well, and that we are already looking today to buy electricity to be used in November.

“Those prices are unbelievably high, which is a further threat to our stability,” said Vučić.

As far as gas is concerned, Serbia will have 400 million cubic meters of gas stockpiled by September 1.

The President pointed out that even if nuclear bombs were to drop across the world, we would still have enough gas to last two months.

“It is all in our domain, it is not dependent on whether anyone will cut anything off or not. Good news on the gas front. Expensive, but good.”
