Before the start of the realization of threats from Priština that vehicles bearing PR, KM, PZ, Gl, UR, PE, DA or ĐA registrations must switch to RKS (“Republic of Kosovo”) licence plates, new messages appeared on the plates on the cars of the citizens of Kosovska Mitrovica.

“No surrender — KM remains!,” says the message on the flyers pinned to cars on the main street, along with photographs of KM and RKS plates.

These messages are being written on the eve of the beginning of implementation of the unilateral moves of the government in Priština saying that vehicles bearing PR, KM, PZ, Gl, UR, PE, DA or ĐA registrations must be switched to plates of the “Republic of Kosovo”, which will be implemented between August 1 and September 30.

Serbs are strongly opposing this decision as it prejudices the final status of the province in opposition to the UNSC resolution 1244 which clearly defines Kosovo and Metohija as a part of Serbia.

Our website wrote earlier about the problem with licence plates in the occupied Serbian province.
