The Western countries have not been successful in stabilizing the society in Bosnia and Herzegovina, nor will they ever, given that they are trying to do it on an unrealistic basis, stated the Serbian Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik, saying that Serbs will not give up on their identity.

In an interview for Russia Today, Dodik said that the influence of Russia in the Balkans was a matter of debate, and that, if anyone has an influence, those would be the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States of America, who have not been able to stabilize this society 30 years after the war, in spite of their efforts and presence.

“What they are trying to tell us is that we are not Serbs, but merely citizens, in order to get us to give up on our national identity, our language, alphabet, culture, country, republic, so that we can become “the good guys” in their eyes. That is never going to happen,” said Dodik.

Dodik reminded that the United Kingdom and the United States have imposed sanctions on him, but he stressed that “this is more of a problem for them, so arrogant and powerful, who think that we are small”.

“I think that when it comes to politics, there is always a question of whether you are behaving yourself with dignity or not. Nobody likes being seen as a coward, which I most certainly am not,” emphasized Dodik.

When it comes to the Western sanctions on Russia, Dodik stressed that it was obvious that those measures were a severe political failure and that they have inflicted more damage on the economy and the standard of living of people in the Western countries, in particular in the European Union.

“We have seen that this has brought a lot of instability to governments, a lot of them are now less stable than they were. I think that the Government of the Republic of Srpska is now more stable than the governments in many European countries,” said Dodik.

Dodik pointed out the example of the government of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who, according to him, “is trapped in the lobby of The Greens”, who are introducing their own agenda and refusing Russian gas, which threatens the entire industrial development and certain issues relating to the Government of Germany.

The Serbian Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina pointed out several examples of instability in the governments of the members of the European Union, from that of the President  of France Emmanuel Macron, who has lost the majority in the parliament, to that of the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who is already falling from power, and the Prime Minister of Italy Mario Draghi, who has resigned from his position.

Dodik believes that even the Government of Austria is extremely unstable, and that the only stable authority in the European Union is the government of Hungary, led by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
