Russia is extremely appreciative of the fact that Serbia did not give into pressure to impose sanctions against it, and the position of Moscow on Kosovo and Metohija cannot be changed because Crimea is the “Russian Kosovo”, said the President of the International Slavic Academy of Sciences Sergey Baburin.

“Serbia may expect any form of aid from Russia, this is no longer 1999,” said Baburin.

He stated that back in 2014, when Crimea returned to being a part of Russia, many people in Serbia took it “intensely”.

“I told my friends that their assessment was mistaken, because Crimea is the “Russian Kosovo”, which was returned to Russia after its illegal annexation to Ukraine in 1954. That precedent should be regarded with hope, it is most important to withstand the pressure,” said Baburin.
