Unconditional and Total Support From Srpska to Serbs of Kosovo*
After a meeting yesterday with Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vučić and His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije at the Patriarchate in Belgrade, the Serbian member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Presidency, Milorad Dodik, said that he supports the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija and that Republika Srpska is ready to help them even beyond its capacities.
Dodik said that the unity of the Church and the state in protecting the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija was highlighted at the meeting.
“It was unanimously said that the unity of the Church and the state must exist in the protection of our people in Kosovo. When I say the state, I mean Serbia as a state and Republika Srpska as a state”, Dodik told reporters after the meeting at which, as he stated, they were informed about the situation in Kosovo regarding the Serbian people.
He added that in the meantime, they were informed about the decision of the Serbs to leave the institutions in Kosovo, which further complicates the situation.
Dodik pointed out that he was happy to hear that the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija will never be left alone and that no new “Storms” and pogroms will happen, that Serbia guarantees freedom for all Serbs wherever they are.
He has said that he is worried that there could be an escalation caused by the irresponsible behavior of the Priština authorities, who ignore the agreements reached earlier regarding the formation of the community of Serbian municipalities.
“I think that our people in Kosovo are determined to get what belongs to them according to international law, and the situation has become even more complicated due to the license plates”, added Dodik.
He assessed that the decisions of the Priština institutions represent a step-by-step attempt to cleanse the Serbs from Kosovo.
“The Shqiptars are not there alone, they are doing this with centers outside Kosovo, outside the Balkans in an attempt to create a situation to demoralize the Serbs to stay in that area. This time they encountered a determined Serbian community to exercise their rights”, added Dodik.
According to Dodik, the West is in a hurry because they have been dealing with that issue for a long time, and they are also dealing with the issue of Republika Srpska.
“I think that the Serbs will have to sit down in the coming period and say what our political offer is for solving problems and stabilizing the Balkans”, Dodik said.
He stated that the development of the situation in Ukraine is almost decisive for the positioning of the Serbs.
“Some in the West are looking for quick success with the ultimate goal of dismembering Russia and controlling its resources, which indicates that the conflict in that area will continue. I do not believe in the prospect of Russia being brought to the position the West wants. Postponing a solution and achieving peace makes those who work here for the international community quite nervous in their efforts to make some success here in that sense, and when I say here, I mean Republika Srpska as well”, said Dodik.
Dodik added that they would like to continue to impose solutions on Srpska, disregarding the law.
“This was a decisive opportunity to discuss these issues at the highest level of Srpska, Serbia and SPC /the Serbian Orthodox Church/, and we will continue this dialogue”, Dodik said.
