The President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić has reiterated that the matter of the status of Kosovo was resolved as far as he was concerned — according to the United Nations Charter and the United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 1244.

Commenting on Albin Kurti’s statement that he would not only be going to Brussels for the licence plates, but to obtain a comprehensive agreement on mutual recognition, Vučić said:

“Okay. He can go to Brussels whenever he wants and however he wants, it is up to him.”

Kurti said to the German daily Franfurter Allegemeine Zeitung that he would not only be going to Brussels to negotiate on the matter of licence plates, but rather to obtain a comprehensive agreement which, according to him, had to be completed prior to spring 2023. “Did he say that the status issue was resolved as far as he was concerned? Well, as far as I am concerned, the status issue has been resolved long ago, in accordance with the United Nations Charter and the UN Security Council Resolution No. 1244. May he have a safe trip to Brussels,” Vučić said.
