The Board for Intangible Cultural Heritage of the United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO), headquartered in Paris, added the Serbian national plum brandy, the sljivovica, to the list of the world’s intangible cultural non-material heritage at their session held today in Morocco.

The “Social practices and knowledge related to the preparation and use of the traditional plum brandy (sljivovica) have been officially registered as one of the world’s cultural goods from Serbia.
