On her Twitter account, German Minister of Foreign Affairs Annalena Baerbock accused Serbia of purposefully escalating the tensions in Kosovo. She believes that the proposal of Belgrade to send troops to the seceded province is “completely unacceptable”.

The German KFOR killed two Serbs on June 13, 1999: Žarko Andrijević and Slavko Veselinović, who were killed while they were leaving the city.

The order came from Lieutenant David Ferk from Koblenz. This was the first time that a German soldier had killed anybody since the Second World War. Seen in this context, Baerbock’s statements are not surprising.
