Rakić: Barricades Will Be Removed When Arrested People Are Released And List for Killing Serbs Is Removed
The president of the Serbian List and member of the Crisis Headquarters Goran Rakić said today that the barricades in the north of Kosovo and Metohija would be taken down once the arrested Serbs have been released, the special units of the Kosovo Police have left the north of the province, and the lists for killing Serbs have been removed.
The situation in the north of Kosovo and Metohija remains unchanged and Serbs are still taking shifts on the barricades set up on the roads which lead from Kosovska Mitrovica towards the administrative crossings in Jarinje and Brnjak in order to force the release of the detained Serbs and the withdrawal of the Kosovo Police from the north of the province.
The Prime Minister of the provisional institutions in Priština Albin Kurti said that he “had understanding for KFOR’s request to delay the removal of barricades by a few days”.
With a threatening message that there may be casualties during the removal of the barricades, Kurti said that they would be taken down soon.
Rakić pointed out that Kurti’s latest statement crossed every line.
“Kurti is openly proposing killing Serbs at the barricades because according to him there is no other way to remove the barricades,” said Rakić, cautioning that Kurti’s threats were not met with any reaction from the international community, which is unacceptable.
Serbs have set up nine barricades on the roads leading from Kosovska Mitrovica towards the administrative crossings in Jarinje and Brnjak and on the road leading from the mixed neighborhood of Brđani in the north part of Kosovska Mitrovica towards the largest newly built neighborhood, Sunčana Dolina in the Zubin Potok Municipality.
