
Members of Security and Information Agency Arrested Albanian Citizen in Bujanovac Over Suspicions of Terrorism
In a coordinated action per the order of the Office of the Prosecutor for Organized Crime, the members of the Security and Information Agency, Directorate of Criminal Police and the Organized Crime Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia arrested Albanian citizen by the initials of A. B. due to reasonable doubt that he had committed acts of terrorism.
Per the unofficial findings of Politika, this action disrupted a weapons smuggling chain in Kosovo and Metohija which the authorities in Priština were hoping to use to arm the Albanian extremists.
The suspect was discovered in possession of a large amount of weapons, ten rifles, a sniper rifle with a silencer, a Scorpion carbine with a silencer, a kilogram of explosives, as well as a large amount of ammunition. It is suspected that the arms were acquired through illegal channels, and that the suspect’s intent was to further transport the weapons into the territory of Kosovo and Metohija.
The suspect A. B. was remanded in custody for up to 48 hours and he will be turned over to the Office of the Prosecutor on criminal charges.
