Last night, a group of about two dozen displaced people from Kosovo and Metohija, joined by the residents of the local village of Merdare, blocked off the administrative crossing in Merdare and the traffic remains blocked in both directions. People gathered at the scene say that they decided to block the crossing as a display of support for the Serbs from the north of Kosovo and Metohija who have been manning the barricades for 18 days and have announced that they will be staying there until further notice.

The people gathered at the barricades with Serbian flags say that they are expecting the arrival of a larger group of people, mostly from Kuršumlija, Toplica and the south of Serbia, in order to help them persevere in their intent and the blockade.
